Community Governance Review recommendations

Information on Community Governance

Published: 4 April 2022

Today (4 April), Cheshire East’s Community Governance Review (CGR) subcommittee meets, where the most important item on the agenda is to consider the review of Town and Parish Council Governance.

You can access the full agenda and supporting documents on this page.

The initial proposals for our parish council were to combine the two wards into one and to reduce the number of councillors to eight. However, after the parish council made a strong case for the status quo, the final proposals recommended no change, leaving us with the current two wards of four and nine councillors respectively.

You can read the full detail on pages 471-477 of the final recommendations (567- 573 of the combined agenda reports pack).

We expect that the final decision will be made at a special meeting of the full council on 27 April.
